The SunSun CUV-224 UV-C sterilization lamp is a practical addition to the filtration system of garden ponds with a volume of up to 35,000 liters. As water flows through the unit, it passes through a chamber with a UV-C emitter whose radiation limits algae, bacteria and mold spores dispersed in the water. The dead algae then clump into larger particles that can be captured by a mechanical or biological filter.
The special design guides the water along a spiral path around the UV-C lamp. Longer contact with the radiation contributes to effective water purification and a faster return to natural clarity. For best results, it is advisable to use the unit together with a biological filter.

The UV-C lamp has an approximate service life of 8,000 hours; to maintain maximum effectiveness, replacing it at the beginning of each season is recommended. For ponds with koi carp, the model is recommended for volumes of up to approximately 8,000 l, with an approximate requirement of 3 W of UV-C power per 1 m³ of water.
